Lets Dye Easter Eggs

It may be nearly two weeks until Easter, but Cooper is already in the spirit. He saw an egg dying kit at the store the other day and insisted on getting it. Yesterday, he woke up with a plan. He kept saying "lets dye Easter eggs!" So dye Easter eggs we did. Eggs compliments of Gertie and Gossie, our chickens. We couldn't use Roadstreet's eggs, hers are brown. We do have a surplus of eggs so it was fun to do something with some of them.
As you can see, he was very serious about the whole operation. I love these photos, bare top with pj's. That is what mornings are like around here and I want to remember him like this always, sleepy eyed and eager to get the day going.
When I was young this is exactly how we dyed eggs, with a box kit, super simple yet fun. Brings me back!

Rain

After a few days of thinking spring was here, the rain is back. Lets hope some sunny days are coming soon. At least Cooper is prepared, right?

New Beginnings

Spring is here and there are a lot of new things going on for The Blair Family. My new website has been launched and The Blair Affair is back. I will use this space to share the latest happenings in our family. Spring has sprung, however it has been cold so it hasn't really felt like spring. But, there are many little flowers sprouting up all over and this lone daffodil came up in our front yard, a simple reminder that spring is here and summer is coming.

Ride

These photos were taken by Doug. He was practicing some of the skills he learned after reading "Understanding Exposure". I love it that he is working on his photographer skills too. He is much more willing to take risks with his photos than I am.
I love these. They really show that this boy was on the move. He rides a 2 wheel bike like a pro and had a blast riding for hours a day in Abq.

Home

I have lived in Seattle for 9 years total and I love everything about it. I will admit, being a New Mexican at heart does make me miss the sun. Seattle is where I live and has become home but I think that in my heart of hearts I know that New Mexico will always really be "home". There is something about it that feeds my soul. The smell and feel of the desert bring me a sense of peace. That endless blues sky, the Rio Grande that is only a short walk from my parents house, the culture, the food, my parents home, the complete dryness, all of it. I love sharing my love for New Mexico with my children, Cooper was born there after all.
Here are a few shots from while we were visiting a few weeks ago. I hope you all have a great week!

Necklace

What's with the necklace? We get that all the time. Cooper has been wearing his amber teething necklace since he was 18 months old. No joke, he has not taken it off for over 3 years! Teething was a disaster with him so we were willing to try anything, after putting it on we all fell in love with it. So, when Fina turned 18 months she got one too. We just love how sweet the amber beads look on their flawless skin. I tried to get them both and had a vision but was only able to get silliness. O, well!
