Dinner Around Here

We NEVER let children play with their food. Most certantly would not let a child who is almost 4 make a mask out of his flat bread. Oh no. 4 year old's should have perfect
table manners.


Babies eat very well around here. They don't wait until they are 11 months old to eat solid food. Babies are taught early to keep their food in their bowls and to never put their feet on the table.


Oh, and they always eat all the healthy food I offer to them. Always.

Do They Know?

Do these two kids know how lucky they are? To have a daddy like they do..... a daddy who is just as into their likes and hobbies as they are.... who can easily take care of 2 babies for up to 14 hours while mommy is at work..... a daddy who always knows what cool events are coming to the Seattle area.... a daddy who will happily wear his baby on his back so that he can climb into an old fighter plane with his boy...a daddy who knows about the local car shows and once again puts babe on his back so that Coop can see all the GTO's his little heart can handle.
I bet they don't. But that's a good thing. All children should be as lucky as they are, to have such a fun and caring daddy. For now, I don't care if they know. I just care that they are happy.

Livia May

Miss Livia. She is as sweet as she is beautiful, as sassy as she is tiny, as lovely as she is smart. This little girl is amazing and we are so lucky to have her. She and Coop are best buddies and I just know that a special relationship is in store for she and Fifi. How lucky are they? Cousins only 1 year apart. We love you Livy May!!

For Daddy, My Husband

Last Thursday was Doug's birthday and we have been celebrating it for a week! He deserves much celebrating, he is pretty great.
We have been together for almost 8 years now, married almost 5 and it has been so wonderful. He and I agree that we are simply made for each other. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful man to spend my life with. He is a man of many colors. He is a coach, a wine expert, a cook, a gardener, a daddy, a husband.

He is very musical and very creative.

He is patient and kind. He is creative. He is everything I need in a man and more. My children as so lucky to have him and so am I.
And he is this.....

So silly with the ability to make me laugh my butt off. Aren't you laughing?

Happy Birthday, Doug! I hope you know how special you are.

Two Messes

She gets around just enough to make a mess everywhere she goes. I forgive her. It is just as fun to watch your second explore the world as it is your first. It is just as cute when they play with pots and pans for the first time. My heart is bigger now than ever. She is a fun little thing and I love everything about her, even her new messes!

In The Garden

As usual, I took some photos of us out in the garden over the weekend. We got going so early that many of us went out in our pj's! Fina loved playing with the seed packages. Shaking them made a very pleasing sound for her. Cooper loves his chickens, as you can see. Lot's of green in our yard. It's our reward for all the rain around here. Doug is working hard on the chicken coop and it looks great!
More hard work to come but many rewards as well. This year we planted most of our veggies from seed which is new for us as we usually buy seedlings form the Seattle Tilth. Hopefully we have luck. Stay tuned for many more garden adventures!
