So as promised, here is the post about the Nimitz. David, Doug's big bro is a Commander in the United States Navy. It was friends and family day aboard the aircraft carrier that he is stationed on. This was the motivation for our visit to Coronado, CA. Doug's Dad and Sherry and some other family members of Davids also made it out for the event. Doug says it was amazing, and I wish he would post here now but he is currently suffering from the stomach flu! They went approx 50 miles out to sea. There was an air show and they even dropped bombs into the ocean. Wow! They were gone for approx 10 hours. Doug was able to chat with the JAG. He was most excited about the jet that flew by faster than the speed of sound and of course about holding extremely large guns (must be a man thing) .
Cooper and I stayed behind with Mary Beth and Elizabeth because babies were not allowed.
I will let the photos tell the story...

Coronado, CA.
Doug's brother David and his wife and baby, Mary Beth and Elizabeth live in Coronado, CA. Wow! What a cool place. We drove from LA to Coronado and stayed until Sat. (it is a small island off of San Diego) We never drove anywhere because they live in this great area where you can walk to everything you need, including the beach! We spent lots of time at the beach and had a great time visiting. Doug's dad, Bob and Sherry were also up for a visit because of the crusie on the aricraft carrier (in a post to come). That was great because we were able to catch up with them as well. Cooper calls Doug's dad "Grandbob" or just "Bob". David and his family are moving form Coronado in August and we aren't really sure why!

Coop and his cousins
Having dinner conversation with "Sukko". Nikko is so good with Cooper, probably because he has 3 little siblings! As mentioned, Coop loved Nikko.
Here is Cooper with sweet Elizabeth.
People asked us if they were twins when they saw them together in this storller. They could be, only one month apart. Aren't they cute?
Cutie Ella! She is a mamas girl! She did not let me hold her once but happened to love Doug. Doug would carry Cooper and Ella around together. He told me we need another one so that he can carry them around together! We are both feeling the baby bug but are still enjoying our alone time with Coop so it will probably be a while yet before Doug can carry around two mini Blairs!
Cooper and Evan in matching shirts. They are too cute together.

Vacation Photos
Right now I have the pleasure of listening to Doug give Coop a bath. They are laughing and singing and Coop is singing too. He is singing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and it sounds like this: "la la la SKY!" Sky is the only word he knows and it is pretty funny to hear him sing it.
Any who, we had a great vacation. We had wonderful hosts both in LA and Coronado. Cooper did pretty well but was a bit overstimulated by the end of the week. He showed his stress by eating very little and being a bit testy. But, he is back to himself now that we are home. It was so fun to see Cooper with his cousins, expecially Elizabeth who we haden't seen in over a year.
I am going to post a few pics a day because there are so many great ones. Enjoy!
Coop and Nikko who he called "Sukko"
Cooper in the ERGO, we could not live without the ERGO!

It's potty time (and vacation time)!
Coop is starting to show interest in the potty. We brought home some potty books from the library and now he loves to go to the bathroom, look at the potty and say "bye bye po po!" We saw a elmo potty toddler insert at Target yesterday and thought we would give it a try. Doug and I are pretty sure we don't want to dump poop from a potty into the toilet so we are going the insert route. Here is a pic of him on it for the first time last night, but no pee in the potty just yet. We aren't rushing, just getting the potty train started. I also added a pic of his adorable cloth booty, cloth diapers are so cute!
Ahhh, vacation time. Doug is on spring break and I took vacation from work, 11 whole days off! Work has been particularly emotional and stressful lately so this is much needed. We are off to Beverly Hills to visit my sister and her family and then to San Diego to visit Doug's brother and family. We are going to take Cooper to Seaworld which should be really fun. Have a good weekend and we will update soon!

First hike of spring
We went on our first hike of the season yesterday in the Manzano Mountains. It was about an hour round trip and Cooper did great. Daddy got an extra workout because carrying Coop in the pack is more work now that he is getting so big. There was a pretty good elevation gain! We hope Coop shares our love for the outdoors with us! We are glad to get hiking again. Happy spring!

Babies don't keep
These are Coopers big boy feet, a sign that the is in fact growing up, or as the poem says "babies don't keep".
Hello everyone! We have been very busy trying to sell our house all on our own. I would say we are doing a good job and with the market the way it is, we have had a lot of interest. But, sigh, no offers yet. There are a few that are acting very interested so please send us your good positive thoughts! I found this poem on another blog and wanted to share it because I think it is so sweet and so true!
Happy Sunday!
Song for a Fifth Child.
Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,
Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,
Hang out the washing, make up the bed,
Sew on a button and butter the bread.
Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,
Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo
The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew
And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo
Look! Aren't his eyes the most wonderful hue?
Lullabye, rockaby lullabye loo.
The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
But children grow up as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.
